Product Stewardship. A national program for paint will roll out in Oregon in 2009 after the pilot in Minnesota. Pharmaceutical take back programs are being implemented piecemeal around the country. And a national consortium for rechargeable battery recycling (RBRC) has been formed and has been implemented throughout the country. Find out the latest in these areas.

Salvage, the Cream of Recycling. Diversion through reuse is a level above recycling. Cart’M does it in Manzanita, The Rebuilding Center does it in Portland, and neighborhood cleanups, like the one in the Richmond neighborhood of southeast Portland does it. Learn about the creative marketing, the material donation and sale, and the creative energy that went into all three of these programs.
