Association of Oregon Recyclersone of the first state recycling associationsofficially began in 1977. A small group of dedicated individuals believed that by working together to encourage recycling, they could make an impact on the future.
They were right!
Today, AOR is nearly 275 businesses, government agencies, other non-profit organizations and individuals still working together to expand on the original idea. All believe that recycling and waste prevention are more than just good for the environment they are unique and growing business practices that are quickly becoming vital aspects of commerce for the 21st century.
AOR has advanced recycling and waste prevention in Oregon through its diverse membership. When businesses, governments, associations and individuals join together with a common goal, solutions emerge.
From supporting important recycling policies and programs at the local and state levels to providing a network where recyclersold hands and newcan share knowledge and expertise, AOR continues to be a solid foundation for recycling and recyclers in Oregon.

AOR is a not-for-profit coalition of individuals, governments, not-for-profit organizations and businesses committed to encouraging waste prevention and recycling in Oregon. Membership is open to all who support our mission.
To make membership more affordable, while still maintaining membership services, AOR has set its dues at the low end of the scale as compared to similar organizations.
Your membership begins on the date your application is received, and renewal notices are sent before your one-year anniversary date.
